Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch
Joaquin did FANTASTIC at the pumpkin patch!!
Honestly, we weren’t sure what to expect, would it be sensory overload, would it give him anxiety, would he be able to use his walker, would he like it?!
Surprise surprise he did wonderfully!! The patch was, as you’d expect, rough with lots of rocks but he took big steps and walked over them. We went through the little haystack maze and he seemed pretty interested, unfortunately, the maze wasn’t very wide so we had to pick his walker up often and move it for him. I think choosing a smaller pumpkin patch was the best way to go he had plenty of room to practice walking and less people meant less stares…always a plus!
There were a few chickens running around and Joaquin was so interested in them, he kept his eyes on them and they really motivated him to propel forward and stand tall.
We saw more stop and go from him than we’ve ever seen, we were so excited to see all of this amazing progress!
A trip to the pumpkin patch was also the perfect time to throw on these adorable Carhartt coveralls 😍. Little sis had them in pink of course!
Joaquin is still using his Nimbo Walker rear facing but we are still actively working on front facing walking. So far the rear facing is making all the difference and hey, this is Joaquin’s Life so whatever works for him works for us!
Joaquin has really been making lots of progress, every day we are so proud of him. Thank YOU for cheering him on!

Cutest pumpkin in the pumpkin patch 🎃 Joaquin did amazing at the pumpkin patch today! Even in the rough pathways – he walked with confidence, propelled, and he stood up tall when he stopped instead of letting go or falling back. This guy is making progress every day, we just love it!! 🙌🏼 #pumpkinpatch #carhartt #MyMeridian
